Can I use my own horse for lessons? What if I don't have a horse and want to take lessons?

We allow "haul-ins" for lessons if you would like to use your own horse and do not currently board with SEC. Your horse will be required to show proof of negative Coggins upon arrival every time. If you don't have your own horse, don't worry! We have several experienced lesson horses to show you the ropes! 

Do you provide personalized care for boarded horses?

Yes, while our full-care board offers the same services to every equine; we have optional add-on options which provide personalized care tailored to each horse’s individual needs, ensuring their well-being and comfort.

Birthday parties at Sundance Equestrian Center?

Yes! We offer birthday parties at our facility. Bring your friends and celebrate with our beatiful horses with fun, food and equine games!

About us

Hook and Ladder Performance Horses is located on 8.5 acres in Boyd, Texas. Most of our horses come directly off the race track. Here at H&L, we rehab (if necessary), restart and rehome horses to new loving homes. Our mission is to provide exceptional care and training for horses and give them a second chance at a new career.
